Black & White Wednesday

I thought I'd share some more pictures from my trip to Europe. These pictures were taken while we were in Paris for the weekend. I really liked Paris. It was a totally new experience. It's a huge melting pot with so many cultures living together it really brings the city to life. I really loved the architecture in Paris. All the old buildings were so beautiful.

This is a picture of the apartment buildings across from our quaint little hotel. We were on the top floor and the windows opened up to the street below.

And of course I had to include a picture of the Eiffel Tower!

This is a picture of one of my favorite places we visited while in Paris. The Notre Dame Cathedral. It was just amazing inside and out. As soon as we walked inside we just felt this peace come over us.

And then I had to share a picture of us girls! My sister is a pro with her long arms at taking a group picture :)

The Blanket

Many of you know that I have a special blanket. I take this special blanket with me almost everywhere. It's even been to a few foreign countries!

My Grandma Mary made me this blanket a long time ago. We were trying to figure out how long ago, and I think it was about 4th grade because that's about the time blue was my favorite color :)

This blanket has been through a lot and this year it really started to show. All the edges were frayed and some of the material had holes in it. My Grandma and I decided it was time to give this blanket a fixin' so it could last me a few more years.

We started looking through her sewing room to find some fabric that would match....and to our surprise, we found the same exact fabric that needed to be replaced. She had kept the leftovers all these years.
I had to sleep without my blanket for a couple days, but it was worth it because now I have an almost brand-new blanket! I wish I had taken before and after pictures.

In this next picture you can see the old fabric and the new fabric....

And here is my blanket. :)

Black & White Wednesday

A few weeks ago we took a trip to the beach. I took my boyfriend's sisters out to look for some seashells. We found a few really good ones and filled our pails before heading back to camp!

Happy Wednesday!

One Looonnnggg Week

This has been one long week. I suppose the week after vacation always is long though. Starting Tuesday through today my sister and I stickered lumber. Explanation: Re-stacking 2x4 20' boards with sticks between each row. We also had to plane off the old stamps and re-stamp the new boards. It was a lot of work and almost every night after I got home from work I'd crash. My muscles hurt. The good news... no more lumber, and we got paid today!

Today when I got home, I went in to say hi to my mom. I then found out that this morning while she was working on her plants a large branch fell from the tree and landed on her neck and shoulder. I'm just so grateful it didn't land on her head. She's in quite a bit of pain now, so please keep her in your prayers.

The branch fell from the top of this photo...

Black & White Wednesday

In June I had the privilege of going to Europe for the first time. I think my favorite part about the trip was our visit to see the castles in Germany. It's just so amazing to think that they built such magnificent structures so long ago. Here are a few of my favorite photos from the castle adventure!

The cobblestone road.

These last two pictures are of the Neuschwanstein Castle. It was started in 1869, but was never finished because Ludwig II of Bavaria died. This castle was the inspiration for Disneys sleeping beauty castle :)

Get Silly.

I was going to post these for Wordless Wednesday but I just couldn't wait...

We're thinking this last one should be our Christmas Card picture for next year.

Oh the fun you can have with a mac.

Oregon Jamboree

Yesterday we had a girls day at the Oregon Jamboree in Sweet Home. We got there pretty early in the morning so we could find some good seats. You can see from this picture though, that we didn't get as close as we wanted. It was lawn chair city! There were tons of people all gathered for a fun day of country music. The first musician up was Marty Stuart. We was quite the entertainer and pretty good. The next group was The Oak Ridge Boys. I didn't really know any of the songs from the first two musicians but it was still fun, and there was tons of people watching to do at this redneck event. :)

The third musician was Travis Tritt. He was good and I knew more of his songs than the previous musicians. But the last musician was what everyone really came for....

Miranda Lambert!

She is one redneck country singer and I love all her music!

Overall, it was a great time out in the sun. We got a little sunburnt, but nothing us cowgirls can't handle ;)
