Black & White Sister Wednesday

"She is your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities. She is your witness, who sees you at your worst and best, and loves you anyway. She is your partner in crime, your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark. She is your teacher, your defense attorney, your personal press agent, even your shrink." -Barbara Alpert

Stinson Beach

I've been living in Northern California for over three years now and I've never really been to a Northern California Beach.

All that has changed though... On Saturday we went to the beach. A lot of us went to the beach! We went to Stinson Beach near San Francisco. It was such a beautiful warm day and I made new friends!

We pretty much just relaxed on the beach the whole time. Some people went swimming, but not me! I do not like the ocean. I only put my toes in. They quickly became numb and I walked back to my towel.

I am also going to the beach this coming weekend with the Business Club! I'm going to be all beach-ed out pretty soon. Good thing I'm going to Oregon the weekend after!

Senior Year

So I made it through the first week of school. I'm waiting for senioritis to kick in.  I am exhausted! I may have taken on a few too many responsibilities though... Secretary in the business club, operations manager for SIFE and a teacher assistant job, its all a little overwhelming right now. Hopefully once I get on a good schedule though everything will run a little more smoothly.

Tonight we had our first vespers business club dinner. It went quite smoothly, about 120 people showed up!

Business Club Women Officers :)

I still haven't finished decorating my room. My walls are bare. Once I'm done though I'll post some pictures.

This is my last year as a student. My last year in college. I want to make this a year I will never forget. A year full of memories. A year full of experiences. So I've decided to make a Senior Year Bucket List. I might add a few things later on.

  1. Skydiving.
  2. Alcatraz.
  3. Get a new piercing.
  4. Bixby Creek Bridge- Big Sur
  5. Redwood National Forest.
  6. San Francisco Zoo.
  7. Vegas.
  8. Take my sister to Disney Land.
  9. San Francisco China Town.
  10. Walk across the Golden Gate Bridge.
  11. Yosemite (climb halfdome).
  12. Beach Trip

I'll be sure to post about each item marked off the list :)

    Black & White Wednesday

This precious little girl has been home for over two months now.

I love watching her grow and blossom. She has definitely found a place in my heart right along with her three other sisters. I love hearing her scream my name, and yes she is quite the little screamer. I love her little attitude and her cute little giggle. I love the hugs and kisses she gives me.

    Life at a Time

Sorry I haven't posted much lately. I have been really busy packing, driving to California, unpacking, and getting all set up for my senior year in college!

In the meantime... one of my best friends is in Europe visiting London and Ireland for three weeks and has been keeping a blog. She is an excellent writer and I promise this blog will keep you entertained :) Enjoy!

    Extreme Home Makeover Edition

The Extreme Home Makeover team is here in Salem Oregon this week. They are doing the first commercial project ever... building a new dormitory and remodeling a haunted house for the Oregon Deaf School. The haunted house is their main source of revenue and is rated one of the top three in Oregon. After this little remodeling project it will probably be #1!

My dad donated some lumber and we had the opportunity to go and help out with the project today. They were a little behind schedule so for the first couple hours we just hung out and I even got a massage. It's a little disorganized but with a project this big do you expect anything else? When they were finally ready for us we started putting up wall panels in the haunted house.

While we were wandering around we saw some famous faces... such as the design team! Who knows... maybe we'll even be on tv (somewhere in the background haha).  We also founds some props from the haunted house and took a few pictures...

It was a really awesome experience to be apart of such a huge community project. It's amazing how much time, materials, and work it takes to get this project done. I think it really brings the community together :)
