3 Girls and one scary....

So After dinner, us girls are all cleaning up dinner and my dad had gone outside to finish up some chores. I had just gone down to the basement to find some tooth paste because after eating delicious corn, the task of getting all the remaining corn out of your teeth has to take place. So I came upstairs and was walking around while brushing my teeth when all of the sudden a huge bug charges at me! I'm screaming with a tooth brush in my mouth and my mom and sister are trying to figure out why I'm screaming. This huge bug starts flying all over the kitchen dive bombing us and flying really fast (At first I thought it was humming bird, that's how big the bug was). So in an attempt to get the bug out of the house I run to the laundry room to find a few brooms. I throw one at my sister and we starting trying to swat the thing out of the house. I yell to my mom "Open the doors!" We get the bug closer to the door and its flying in circles around the chandelier and then... the bug flys into the light and all we hear is bzzzzzzzz. The huge bug fried itself. I wasn't trying to kill the bug but I'm not sad about its suicide either. After all the screaming and running around (with a tooth brush in my mouth) we all had a good laugh about the whole experience :)

My Dad was on the News!

Wednesday morning I woke up to hear my dad yelling and running up and down the stairs. Why was I being woken up at 7:30 by all this noise? Well apprently my dad was watching the news and saw that the building right across from his lumber yard started on fire Tuesday night and burnt completly to the ground. When my dad got to work all the news crews were there and KOIN 6 news interviewed my dad. The first thing me and my mom said when we heard my dad was going to be on the news was "Hmm i I wonder what dad wore to work today." Luckily it wasn't one of his cut-off t-shirts.
The video is here:

In an article I found by Capital Press, it said " A two-alarm fire engulfed a 14,800 square-foot seed-cleaning facility here in the early-morning hours of Wednesday, Aug. 26, destroying the building, seed-cleaning equipment and between 800,000 and 1 million pounds of grass seed. An insurance adjuster on the scene Wednesday afternoon at Precision Seed Cleaners Inc., 8765 Pueblo Drive NE, estimated damage at between $2 million and $3 million. "

My Nerd Side :)

So what have I been doing during my free time (and the time I should have been sleeping) since summer school got out? Reading of course!

My awesome roommate Amanda let me borrow her Harry Potter books for the summer. I hadn't gotten into Harry Potter before because I thought they just sounded silly (boy was I wrong!) But then Amanda convinced me to read them and I'm so glad I did! They were very good and very hard to put down, but then again I say that about almost every book :). The movies on the other hand are not so impressive. I've tried to watch a few of them but there just so much more boring than the book. The books are always better than the movies.

Today I finished the last Harry Potter book!
7 books total and exactly 4100 pages!

Don't worry.. I've got plenty more books to read before school starts. Once school starts though then I have to start reading the books I don't want to read :(

Florence

I finally got a vacation last week! We left Tuesday to go to the beach. This is a annual tradition... every year in August my family and a bunch of other families camp out on the dunes and ride ATV's. The weather was beautiful most of the time. We had 6 trailers all camped in a big circle with a fire in the middle. I think my favorite part about camping is just sitting around the camp fire with everyone talking and enjoying each others company. We played a lot of volleyball, rode ATV's a lot, and played in the sand. It was a sad day on Sunday when we had to say goodbye to everyone. Can't wait till next August!

Enjoying the beach with my sister.

Everyone sitting around a giant log Trevor brought back from the beach.

The camp!

A sick baby seal that stayed on the beach all day.

Squishy faces while riding in the ranger.

A dirty face after an intense ride on the ATV's :)

Riding around on the Ranger. Watch out! Ashley's a crazy driver.
Picture with my sister at the Lake :)
Let's just say after the trip I was exhausted, bitten (I got like 10 bites on one foot... I think there were flees in my Uggs), sun burnt, bruised, and sore. But it was all worth it!

Rodeo

So Friday night I went to my first rodeo in Sublimity with my sister and Taylor. I had fun getting all dressed up. I was gonna wear my cowboy boots but it was super hot outside and just wore my converse instead :). I got the cowgirl shirt on though. It was fun watching the bull riding and ropin'. I think my favorite part was when the little kids did sheep riding and tried to say on as long as possible. I'm definitely going to make my kids do sheep riding (in the future btw). At the end of the rodeo they had metal mulisha motorcross riders do a bunch of tricks like back flips and other cool stuff. After the show we stood in line and got their autographs and some shirts. Pretty sweet!
