Black & White Wednesday

So this event actually happened April 17th. THAT'S how behind I am!

My senior banquet! But it was actually just sponsored by the senior class and my sister, a freshman could come and my boyfriend which made it more fun!
The evening started out at the Velvet Cantina where we had appetizers. Then we headed to the Cow Palace for a Cirque Du Soleil show! It was my first Cirque Due Soleil show and I thought it was really cool, I really want to see one of the extreme ones in Vegas though.

There is not a whole lot to say about this special event.... we just got dressed up, ate, and saw a show! Enjoy the pictures!

Mother's Day

So I've been super busy this month. No time for blogging. I'm going to try and catch up though.
Here are some pictures from when Ashley and I went home for Mother's Day.
We spent most of Saturday at Church for the Church's 50th anniversary.
It was nice being home and seeing family again.

It was especially nice to be able to spend mother's day with my mom.

Sunday before we went to the airport we all had lunch together.

Here are a few family photos we took. My dad is absent from them all because he was inside chatting away.

Black & White Wednesday

A few weeks ago my sister Ashley, and my friend Allie and I went to a field to take pictures. Allie and I were taking pictures for our graduation announcements.

Ashley just tagged along for fun. My sister is so photogenic and I just wanted to share these beautiful pictures of her :)

For some reasons I just love fields. Every time I see a field with tall grass and flowers I want to take pictures of it.

The lighting wasn't that great because it was so sunny, but I still like them.

I really wanted a picture that showed how long her hair was. This picture reminds me of the 70s.
Ashley probably would have made a great hippie :)

This is one of my FAVORITE pictures of her.

It's the Final Countdown

Okay maybe not the final countdown, but the number of days till I graduate is definitely getting shorter way too fast.

46 days.

7 weeks.

I'm not even going to count the minutes or seconds.

What does all this mean???

Well from what I can see... it means that senioritis is in full swing.

I have this huge list of things that need to get done. But instead of using my time wisely.... I wait until the last minute.

I also have these huge life decisions to make like where I'm going to live and where I'm going to work.

I think the only thing I should really do is stop worrying and leave it all to God.

Easter Weekend

I spent Easter weekend with Trevor's family and it was a lot of fun!

We watched movies, ate good food, lots of cupcakes, and of course a Easter Egg Hunt!

It's been a while since I got to participate in a Easter Egg Hunt and I had a lot of fun hiding the eggs!

Thank you Trevor's family! For always including me in everything and making me feel like part of the family :)

Parisian Wind

I thought it would be fun to participate in the windy I-heart-faces challenge this week.

Sometimes the Eiffel Tower can be very windy...

This is a picture of my sister and I on the middle level of the Eiffel Tower last summer. So fun, but also so windy!

Europe - - Notre Dame

One of my favorite places in Paris is the Notre Dame Cathedral.

Its so big and beautiful and when I walk inside I'm just in awe.

The construction of this cathedral was started in 1163 and finished in 1345.

I think what I love most about the inside is the stained glass windows. Last quarter I took a class in Stain Glass Design and we created our own mini stained glass windows. Just doing the miniature window was hard, I can't even imagine creating or installing the stained glass windows in this cathedral. They are massive and very detailed.

I really like this picture because the sun shining through the window is casting the colors on the wall :)

Inside you can pay to light a candle. I think they add to the peacefulness.

This is the second time I've been to the Notre Dame Cathedral, but this time I learned something new!
There is a little stone in front of the cathedral called point zero. In Paris when you ask someone how far away something is they use this point as the starting place So instead of measuring from where you are, they measure the distance from this point. Legend has it, if you jump on the stone it will bring you good luck and you will return to Paris one day.
So we all took our turn jumping :)

The Love Bridge "Black & White Wednesday

The Pont de l'ArchevĂȘchĂ© Bridge in Paris near the Notre Dame Cathedral is quite special.

It is covered in padlocks.

The story goes... couples in love write their names on the lock, lock it onto the bridge and then throw the key into the Seine river to bind their love.

I think its cute and romantic. Very cool to look at too. There were thousands of padlocks. I thought these pictures looked better in black & white. Adds some drama :)

Europe - - British Museum

During our free time we decided to explore the British Museum and I'm so glad we did because it was so cool and free!

The first thing we saw was the Rosetta Stone. Which provided the key to understanding Egyptian Hieroglyphics.
The Egyptian department was really awesome.

Meet Cleopatra.
It's not the greatest picture because she is hidden behind glass, but its still pretty cool to think that Cleopatra is in that mummy.

 Really old Mosaics

 Really old Bones

Hannah and I tired from walking around

This is probably one of my most favorite museums. I hope one day I have a chance to go back there and see everything else. People could spend days in this museum and not see everything. We were only there for a couple hours!
